Recyclable plastic packaging

Mono-material Flexible packaging:

  • Recyclable and designed for the circular economy
  • Available as BIO-PE from sugarcane, I’m Green certified
  • Approved for the food industry
  • Digitally printable from 500 units per design
  • Available with Paper Touch ink or a matte finish
  • Available with a barrier against aroma, moisture, and oxygen

All our recyclable mono-material bags are suitable for packaging both food and non-food items. Here are some examples of applications for our packaging:

  • Food: spices, chocolate, muesli, nuts, superfoods, coffee, or tea
  • Non-food: tablets, soap bars, toys, or as a mailing bag

Of course, freshly roasted coffee beans can also be packaged in recyclable packaging. If you choose this option, we will equip the packaging with a valve made entirely of LDPE. For resealable stand-up pouches, we use a zipper made of the same material. This ensures that the pouches are fully recyclable.

For good recyclable packaging, material selection is important. The purer the material, the better it is recyclable. To recycle well, it is therefore best to use one type of material: mono-material. Especially now that flexible packaging can also be made of mono-material, this is a great alternative: all the advantages of traditional flexible packaging and fully recyclable!

Why is it so important to use recyclable packaging?

Within the European Green Deal, an ambitious policy initiative aimed at achieving a climate-neutral European Union by 2050, there is a specific focus on sustainability in packaging materials.

One concrete goal is that by 2030, all packaging within the EU must be recyclable. This measure has been introduced to reduce packaging waste and minimize the ecological impact of packaging materials.

The emphasis on fully recyclable packaging by 2030 reflects growing concerns about the increasing problem of plastic waste and its harmful effects on ecosystems and oceans.

Companies are therefore also encouraged to use recyclable packaging. In this context, we refer to sustainable packaging that helps to reduce packaging waste.

Advantages of Recyclable Plastic Packaging Made from Mono-Material

Why choose recyclable plastic packaging:

  • Plastic is lightweight, durable, and has a longer lifespan
  • Extends food shelf life and helps prevent food waste
  • Recycling plastic reduces the use of petroleum
  • Recycling emits less CO₂ compared to producing new plastic film
  • Available with a barrier against aroma, moisture, and oxygen

What about the end-of-life of recyclable plastic packaging?

Flexible packaging made from recyclable mono-material can be disposed of in the PMD bin (Plastic, Metals, Drink packaging). Municipalities without a PMD bin have a separate collection point where PMD waste can be disposed of free of charge.

Successfully Recycle with These 5 Tips

Recycling is trendy! More and more people and businesses recognize the importance of sustainability and reusing products and materials. Great! To give you and your customers a helping hand—and to make recycling enjoyable—we’ve put together a few tips:

Effective recycling starts with sorting waste correctly. Help your customers by clearly indicating on the packaging what can be disposed of and which waste stream the packaging should be recycled in.

It’s important that a package is thoroughly emptied before it’s disposed of. A clean or empty package is easier to recycle, and the process runs more smoothly. Is there still a small amount left in the package, like a cream? Cut the package open to make it easier to remove the last bit.

If the packaging is empty, take a close look at the materials it’s made from. Think of a paper label, tag, glued tray, or lid. Remove these parts and dispose of them in the appropriate recycling bins.

If the packaging is a nice, sturdy cardboard box, use it to store small items, for example. Glass or plastic jars can also be repurposed to create a mini garden. Clean and dry the jars thoroughly, add some soil, and plant a seed or a small plant. You can also use small jars to store herbs, loose tea leaves, paper clips, or nails, for example. Convenient and organized!

Want to know for sure if a certain type of paper can be recycled? Try balling it up. Does the paper spring back open and not stay crumpled? Then it’s not recyclable.
